Gorkle Pattaya
Gorkle Pattaya is tucked away on Soi LK Metro just off Soi Buakhao. Walk down from Soi Buakhao 20 meters and when it forks left, you will see the bar almost in front of you.
I visited on a Friday at 8pm and was welcomed by Ray, the owner, a very affable Australian, just as the night time GoGo Bar was getting underway.
The first thing that struck me, compared to many other GoGo bars, is that you can actually see what you are doing and are not plunged into a black hole. The Ladies there; 24 and counting, are of a good quality and due to the lighting there are no "hidden" surprises.
I found them to be friendly, polite and not too pushy - a refreshing change. Feeling generous? Then buy a basket of ping pong balls to throw for the ladies (20 baht each) and enjoy the subsequent confusion. Each one that a girl gets, is a tip for her. The GoGo gets underway, as I said, at 8 pm and there are a couple of "shows" at 12 and 1 am. This will be increased as more ladies arrive.
Ray showed me around the accommodation that he has available, good sized rooms all with hot water, cable TV ,safe and fridge. Prices start at 600 baht per night with special offers for weekly/monthly rates. For anyone staying there is a separate entrance, so you do not have to head through the bar as you come and go. Although I hate the term, there is a short time room, if you cannot wait to get your "tirak" home! (b/f - 550 baht)
Drinks are well priced and Lady drinks are very reasonable at 95 baht.
There is also a brand new pool table, darts, large screen TV's and well equipped kitchen. Being an Australian - Prime Australian beef will be topping the menu in the near future.
Ray is going to turn Gorkle Bar into a 24 hour sports bar / GoGo operation. A Sports Bar in the daytime and a GoGo Bar at night. There will be something there for everyone and all under one roof - you do not have to walk miles.
So head on down for a really enjoyable time and if you have only half as much fun as I had, you will be back on a regular basis - guaranteed.
For those who do visit, but have to go back "home", you will soon be able to keep up to date with what's happening at Gorkle through the Website that Ray's developing. He's putting a lot of effort into his bar and I know it is going to be a great success.
Enjoy.
